What to expect

Before the Class

Remote introduction lessons

A few days before the course, you will receive an invitation to begin learning, through an access to multimedia content. It will allow you to get ahead and familiarize yourself with general concepts.

Day 01

Kick-off and Q&A

During the first session, we will have the opportunity to answer your questions regarding the first lessons that you will have followed online. We will go over some elements and then carry on with new exercises.

Live Exercises

We will see how to use layers, selection tools, transformation tools and basic adjustments.

We’ll see more advanced manual selection tools, we’ll learn to build files non-destructively using various photo manipulation features.

Individual Project

At the end of the session, you will receive a small brief to complete at home. We will provide coaching at the end of the session to get you started. The project will need to be completed by the next session.

Free Week

Remote Work

Between the two sessions, you will receive new lessons to follow, in the form of didactic videos. You will also have to finish the project started at the end of the previous session.

Day 02

Project Hand-in and Q&A

We will start the second session with questions and answers based on the work done at the end of the first session.

Live Exercises

We’ll see advanced Photoshop techniques, such as ‘Liquify’ editing tools, masks, adjustment layers, and filters.

Individual Project

At the end of the session, you will receive a small brief to complete at home. We will provide coaching at the end of the session to get you started. The project will need to be completed by the next session.

Day 03

Project Hand-in and Q&A

We will start the third session with questions and answers based on the work done at the end of the second session.

Live Exercises

We will try to improve our knowledge of Photoshop with more advanced exercises, in order to complete the subject and get acquainted with all the features that Photoshop has to offer. Through various exercises, we will see how to create interfaces, photo-montages and visual effects that only Photoshop can help us create.

Closing Drinks

We will end the last session with well deserved drinks and light snacks. We will debrief on the class and take the chance to chat about various topics.

After the Class

Access to Tutorials

After the course, your access to online resources for the course remains available for one year (with the option to extend). This will allow you to refresh your memory and stay up to date with new topics of this course.

Special Events

Frequently Asked
  • What are the prerequisites?

    There are no specific prerequisites. A good knowledge of your PC or Macbook will be sufficient. It is important to be comfortable with the use of folders, files, windows, shortcuts.

  • What is provided?

    We provide some course support in the form of a small booklet, pens, pencils and notepads.

  • Are software licenses included?

    For our Photoshop class, the license is included in the price. We will reimburse CHF11.85 that are necessary to get Photoshop and Lightroom in the Photography pack found on this page.

  • What should I bring?

    In order to follow the course, you just need a computer (PC or Mac) with the specifications required by Adobe that you will find here. Having a mouse will also give you greater comfort during practical work.

  • Where will the course take place?

    We collaborate with the space Le Lab in Lausanne. Except for exceptional cases, we will hold the three live sessions in these premises.
